Randomly estimated hefty aggregated electricity bills imposed on the residents of Asmara have yet to be revised, sources from the Eritrean capital report.
The Eritrean Electricity Authority had previously publicly announced on national media that it was unable to register all its clients’ electricity consumption individually due to shortage of manpower. However, the authority had since last year promised to revise the arbitrarily estimated bills.
Nonetheless, residents of Asmara are still being forced to pay extremely expensive bills that cover even the prolonged periods when power was out.
