Eritrea is working hard to destabilize Djibouti, criticizes the country’s minister of interior – Hassen Umar Mohammed.

The minister said the Eritreans government arming and sending mercenaries to terrorize his people and that the mercenaries kidnap many Djiboutians from the northern part of the country that borders with Eritrea.

Hassen Umar Mohammed warns that his country is not going to tolerate such kind of hostilities.

However, the statement by the Djiboutian high official could not independently be verified, states the Turkish news service – Anadolu.

There has not been any statement in response to Djibouti’s alleged claim by the government of Eritrea.

Djibouti’s accusation comes after news that a helicopter from Eritrea carrying representatives of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates made a direct flight to Djibouti was published by the Middle East Monitor.

Eritrea and Djibouti have been at odds since 2008 and several mediations for peace talks initiated by Qatar have not been successful.

Djibouti accuses Eritrea for the failed peace talks for its refusal to disclose the number of POWs and release them, accordingly. Eritrea, on the other hand, blames Ethiopia’s interference for the failure.
