WHO Chief’s says his uncle Killed by Eritrean troops in Tigray

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, World Health Organization chief disclosed that Eritrean forces killed 50 people in a village in Tigray, among those who were killed his maternal uncle, he said.

The UN health body chief said that the victims were shot by the Eritrean forces in a village in Tigray; he didn’t wish to name the village for the safety of its inhabitants.

The Eritrean forces, though pulled out form the main cities in Tigray, keep some presence in the border areas of the Ethiopian northern region.

In a related development, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a side meeting with the Ethiopian Prime Minister in the Afro-American summit in Washington. Blinken called for the immediate and complete withdrawal of the Eritrean troops from Tigray in addition to the facilitation of food aid deliverance to the needy.
