Prince Alwaleed receives letter from Eritrean President

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received a letter from HE Isaisas Afwerki, President of the State of Eritrea. The letter was handed to HRH by HE Mr. Mohammed Omar Mahmoud, Ambassador of Eritrea to Saudi Arabia. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Nahla Nasser Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman.

 

The meeting began as the Ambassador said that the purpose of his visit was to bid farewell to the Prince as he has come to the end of his term as Ambassador of Eritrea to Saudi Arabia. Moreover, Prince Alwaleed and the Ambassador discussed the general issues related to their respective countries and HRH’s philanthropic contribution to Africa.

Furthermore, The Ambassador commended Prince Alwaleed on his efforts in playing a vital role in economic and social development, and referred to HRH’s local, regional and international investments, and generous contributions to people in need all over the world. In conclusion the meeting, the Prince wished the Ambassador all the best on his future endeavors.

In 2009, Prince Alwaleed visited Eritrea pursuant to an official invitation by President Isaisas Afwerki. The President hosted a luncheon in honor of the Prince and bestowed HRH the “Presidential Coat of Arms of the State of Eritrea”, which is a first class decoration.

In 2008, Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation – Global (Registered in Lebanon) that is chaired by Prince Alwaleed made a $150,000 contribution to Rehabilitation of children with physical disabilities by partnering with the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare in Eritrea.
