Ethiopian Army will be deployed in the Eritrean Ethiopian Border

In a press conference with Tigray Media outlets, Getachew Reda, Tigray People’s Front spokesperson said the Ethiopian federal army will be deployed in the border with Eritrea according to an agreement reached with Prime Minster Abiy Ahmed on Feb. 6.

The forces, he said will be in charge securing the border and maintain security.

“The Eritrean forces have redeployed from the main towns, but they are still present in some countryside border villages” he said.

In a press conference in Nairobi, the Eritrean president refused to link his forces presence with the peace process in Ethiopia.  Saying that “Eritrea shouldn’t be used as pretext for the for hampering the peace agreement, and that Ethiopia should be left alone to manage its affairs”
