Eritreans at home are celebrating the 24th anniversary of the Independence as usual in a traditional festive mode with various types of social gatherings and music.

In the meantime, the Eritrean diaspora community is divided in to two camps – while the sympathizers of the government are set to celebrate the independence anniversary by taking part in concerts and festivals organized by Eritrean embassies in their area; the opposition camp are reported to be focused on reminding the people to work hard to eliminate the dictatorial regime in Eritrea, which has been the main cause for emigration and tragic incidents in the Mediterranean Sea.

They further stress that the people have to reclaim their full independence and liberation from the regime, which has betrayed the legacy of the fallen heroes.
