Following Israeli’s statement on deporting thousands the Eritreans dominated African immigrants to Rwanda and Uganda, President Paul Kagame of Rwanda says his country has braced itself with talks with the Netanyahu administration on the implementation of the deportation process.
The Uganda’s deputy minister of foreign affairs – Henry Okelo Oriym, on the other hand, describes the move by Israel like trashing the immigrants and that it is a violation of international refugee convention.
Israel is pushing the 2000 African immigrants – mostly Eritreans, who have been detained in Halot detention center, to leave the country and settle in an unidentified third country.
Israel is reported to promise Rwanda and Uganda with millions of dollars worth development aid if they take the immigrants.
The campaign is not, however, getting any support and because of that Israel says it is designing a plan to expel the immigrants in batches.
Although Israel has repeatedly been discussing the issue with the Eritrea’s Ambassador to the country, the ambassador pointes out his government would not accept any Eritrean who is forcefully returned from Israel.
