The parents of the Somali soldiers returning from Eritrea after training period that raised questions met with President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud on Jan.27, in the presidential palace in Mogadishu.
The meeting discussed the current situation of the returnees. The president said that qualified soldiers shall be enlisted in the army units, whereas the retiring ones will be granted retirement according to the laws.
Earlier, the Somali army chief of staff said the returning soldiers will play a decisive the role in the fight against AL Shabab movement.
On a related development, Jazira correspondent in Mogadishu said that military experts from Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya, and Somalia will meet in Mogadishu tomorrow to discuss the war on AL Shabab movement, the meeting comes after the movement escalated its attacks against military and civilian targets in various Somali cities.
