Eritreans in Stockholm, Sweden held a rally this past Monday the 20th of April to protest Israel’s decision to forcefully kick out Eritrean and Sudanese nationals dominated African immigrants.
The peaceful demonstration that lasted for two hours starting 5 o’clock in the afternoon local time was attended by tens of Eritreans, South Sudanese, and Israeli nationals. The demonstrators condemned Israel and Rwanda for their record of human rights violations on immigrants.
Organizers of the demonstration said they expect to see similar protests against Israel’s policy on immigrants in other countries.
There are 42,000 immigrants in Israel and most of whom are reported to be Eritreans.
The Israeli government is in the process of discussing plans to deport these immigrants to Rwanda and other African countries.
