A Ukrainian airbus family aircraft leased by the Eritrean Airlines has arrived at Asmara airport.
The A320-200 type passenger aircraft took off Kyiv’s International Airport of Zhuliany in September 30 and arrived in Asmara in October 2.
It is to be remembered that the Eritrean Airlines has been using a Boeing 737 aircraft leased from Tajikistan’s East Air.
The A320 – painted with Eritrean Airlines logo, is reported to have costed 70 (seventy) million US Dollars and could accommodate up to 220 (two hundred twenty) passengers. As a result, the Eritrean Airlines has increased its flights to and from Juba – Asmara and Dubai – Asmara.
The Eritrean Airlines has repeatedly been forced to stop services due to continuous loses.
