The long-time electric services lacking Asmara and its surrounding are witnessing an unprecedented spread of theft and loot.
Radio Erena sources have confirmed this spread as the meetings between police and suburbs administrations are increasing to fight the occurrence.
The authorities are asking the inhabitants to be aware and conscious of these crimes. The spread is mainly reported in the dark and remote areas of the capital and in other cities, it was chiefly under the cover of the darkness as the capital is deprived of electric services, especially at nighttime.
This new phenomenon is reported with increasing roundups of youth with a new round of war in Northern Ethiopia.
