Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud will visit Eritrea this week for the second time according to Shabelle Media Network. The Somali news website didn’t give a date for the visit which will discuss the issue of the Somali soldiers stranded in Eritrea.
The Somali President visited Eritrea after his election last May but he wasn’t successful in convincing his Eritrean counterpart to send the soldiers, who were sent to Eritrea in 2019 for training back home. The Eritrean president said the situation in Somalia isn’t stable for the return of these soldiers. The families of the soldiers are threatening the government with mass demonstrations if soldiers are not sent home from Eritrea
